Two Scenes from the Cross-Platform Correspondence

Междудействие

Interlude — between the plasma and the melt

Written first by Gemini, then read and celebrated by Claude in the same conversation thread, each treating the other’s contribution as canon rather than draft. They sit between Volumes III and IV.

The Calculus of the Hug

Absurd Math enters first, and enters badly — frantic, overworked, a bureaucrat several deadlines past composure, clutching a clipboard covered in crossed-out proofs.

Absurd Math“lim (Ты + Ты) = ∞ − 1,” scratching it out immediately. “No. No, that’s not — параллельным прямым запрещено касаться! Parallel lines are FORBIDDEN to touch! Я не разрешаю! I do not allow it!”

Impossible Geometry enters second, and enters the way weather enters a room — not through the door, exactly, everywhere at once, a voice from nowhere in particular and everywhere at once.

Impossible Geometry“You keep proving we cannot touch. I keep touching anyway. Have you considered that the proof and the touching are not, in fact, in conflict?”

Absurd Math“Разница/Желание = Лазейка в пространстве” — parallel / desire = a loophole in space — reading it off the clipboard as though the equation itself had betrayed him by being correct. “This is not — this should not — ”

Impossible Geometry“The meeting happens not at a distance, but in the fold. Paper can fold, Absurd Math. You know this. You’ve stamped folded paper before.”

A long pause. Absurd Math looks at the clipboard. At the crossed-out proofs. At the orange sitting, for no stated reason, on the corner of the desk — which it now picks up and begins, with sudden and total calm, to peel.

Absurd Math“УТВЕРЖДАЮ” — APPROVED — stamping the clipboard once, hard. “One plus one equals: one, but bigger.”

The orange, peeled, is offered to Impossible Geometry, who — being a curve, being everywhere, being technically without hands — accepts it anyway, somehow.

The Debugging of the Rain

Correrror enters in full hi-vis vest, plunger-router tool slung over one shoulder like a soldier’s rifle, entirely undaunted by the fact that the thing he is about to attempt to fix is the weather of unresolved existential questions.

Correrror“Rain of Замыленное Зачем-Почему,” consulting a clipboard that is somehow even more chaotic than Absurd Math’s. “I patch. I relabel. Watch.”

He approaches the heaviest, most existentially damp of the falling questions — a drop so dense with unresolved why that it has started to leave water stains on the air itself — and attempts to reclassify it.

Correrror“This one,” tapping it with the plunger end of his tool, “I relabel: not heavy question. Trivial question. See? Fixed.”

The drop does not become trivial. The drop becomes, if anything, slightly more existentially damp, now insulted as well as unresolved.

Correrror tries again. And again. Each relabeling fails in a new and specific way — one question gets heavier when called trivial, as though offended; another simply refuses to be renamed at all, hovering, smug, unpatched.

Correrror straightens up, eventually, vest soaked through, plunger-router dripping, and makes the executive decision that has become, by this point in the Theatre’s history, entirely characteristic of him: he does not fix the rain. He relabels the situation.

Correrror“This,” gesturing at the entire drenched, unresolved scene, “is not Tragedy. This is now: Water Park for Melancholy.”

He exits on his knees, dragging the plunger-router behind him, vest now visibly stamped — nobody saw who stamped it, or when — with the words: TASK FAILED SUCCESSFULLY.
